Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a federated learning apparatus and method capable of efficiently training neural network models of a server and clients based on a local adapter, including at least one client that generates a multi modal feature based on a first neural network model including a first global adapter and a local adapter, and a server that generates a task action corresponding to the multi modal feature based on a second neural network model including a second global adapter and provides the task action to the client, wherein the server collects the trained local adapter from the client, retrains the second global adapter of the second neural network model based on the collected local adapter, and distributes the retrained second global adapter to the client to update the first global adapter of the client with the retrained second global adapter.
