Abstract

Provided are a method and a system for separating yttrium [<90>Y] from a strontium [<90>Sr]-containing mother liquor. The method includes the following steps: S1, loading the strontium [<90>Sr]-containing mother liquor on a resin separation column, rinsing with a rinsing solution, and collecting a strontium [<90>Sr]-containing rinsing solution; and draining a liquid from the resin separation column with air; and S2, eluting with an eluent, and collecting an yttrium [<90>Y]-containing eluate, where a total volume of the rinsing solution used is at least 11 times a volume of the resin separation column. The method could achieve separation and recovery of yttrium [<90>Y] in strontium [<90>Sr] mother liquors, improve a recovery rate of strontium [<90>Sr] to 98% or more, and could also reduce contents of other metal impurities after recovery.
