Abstract

The present disclosure provides a network monitor comprising at least one data interface configured to receive an incoming data stream, at least one data extractor coupled to the at least one data interface and configured to extract predetermined relevant data from data packets of the incoming data stream and output respective data packages, a hash processor coupled to the at least one data extractor and configured to calculate a hash for each one of the data packages, and to increment a per-hash-counter for each occurrence of a respective hash in the data packages, and an anomaly detector configured to, if one of the per-hash-counters reaches a predetermined counter-individual counter threshold, detect an anomaly and output a respective anomaly signal for the respective per-hash-counter. Further, the present disclosure provides a respective method.
