Abstract

A surface cleaning apparatus (10) includes a recovery tank (22) including a tank cover (112) that defines an air outlet (114) through which a working airstream passes to exit the recovery tank (22), and a filter (116) fluidly downstream of the air outlet (114). A filter mount (126) supports the filter (116) and is configured to automatically move the filter (116) to expose an upstream side (118) of the filter (116) to view upon disassembly of the recovery tank (22) from the apparatus. Methods for user disassembly and servicing of a surface cleaning apparatus (10) with a recovery tank (22) and a filter (116) are also provided.
