Abstract

Fine particles generated from a machined workpiece is suppressed from adhering to the workpiece. A laser machining apparatus (10) for machining a workpiece (3) includes a laser head (11) including a liquid supply chamber (16) configured to store a liquid, a liquid nozzle (17) disposed to face the liquid supply chamber (16) and having an orifice (17b) configured to generate a liquid column (41), an optical lens (14) configured to focus a laser beam onto the orifice (17b), and a liquid-column outlet (22) through which the liquid column (41) passes. The laser machining apparatus (10) further includes a mist nozzle (37) disposed at a distal end of the laser head (11) and configured to spray mist (55) toward the workpiece (3).
