Abstract

There is described a packaging machine (1) and a method for producing sealed packages from a web (3) of packaging material gradually folded and sealed into a tube (7) fed along a conveying path (P) with the steps of receiving a web width (WW) indicative of a width of the web (3) of packaging material; receiving an overlap width (OW) indicative of a width of an overlapping area (OA) of the tube (7) of packaging material; wherein the overlapping area (OA) comprises an area wherein a first edge (3A) of the web (3) of packaging material partially overlaps a second edge (3B) of the web (3) of packaging material; and adjusting a dimension of the overlapping area (OA) based on both the web width (OW) and the overlap width (OW).
