Abstract

In a method of operating a sailing boat having an electric motor (102) and a battery (105) for operating a folding propeller (1) mounted on a shaft (101, the propeller (1) is during sailing by sail retained in an operating position allowing the propeller (1) to turn the electric motor (102) through the shaft (101) for the electric motor (102) to operate as a generator energizing the battery (105). The propeller (1) comprises a biased element (30) adapted to pass a restriction feature (31) during pivoting of the propeller blades (11) from a passive position to the operating position for said restriction feature (31) to retain the propeller blades (11) in the operating position.
