Abstract

The disclosure relates to a method (100) for determining a temperature of a medium (13) within a pipe (12) and/or an inner surface temperature of the pipe (12), the method (100) comprising:- obtaining temperature measurement data from at least two temperature sensors (21, 22), wherein the temperature measurement data is indicative of a temperature of an outer surface temperature of the pipe (12), measured by the first temperature sensor (21), and further indicative of an ambient temperature of a surrounding of the pipe (12), measured by the second temperature sensor (22); wherein the at least two temperature sensors (21, 22) are provided within a holding element (11);- processing the temperature measurement data by a First Principal Artificial Intelligence, FP-AI, wherein the processing by the FP-AI comprises a partial differential equation (PDE) and;- determining the temperature of the medium (13) and/or an inner surface temperature of the pipe (12) from the processing by the FP-AI.
