Abstract

A radio frequency (RF) coil assembly (500) includes a top structure (410) and a bottom structure (420). The top structure includes a first portion of an RF coil loop. The bottom structure includes a second portion of the RF coil loop. The RF coil assembly is configured to be selectively connected in at least a first configuration and a second configuration. The first configuration includes the top structure and the bottom structure. The top structure is connected to the bottom structure, and the first portion of the RF coil loop is connected to the second portion of the RF coil loop. The second configuration includes the top structure, the bottom structure, and an intermediary structure (530). The intermediary structure is detachably connected between the top structure and the bottom structure, and connects the first portion of the RF coil loop to the second portion of the RF coil loop.
