Abstract
An additive manufacturing built simulation data structure (DS) is provided. The data structure being assembled for a finite element analysis (FEM) of mechanical properties (M, T) of an object (1) to be additively manufactured, wherein the data structure (DS) comprises a matrix pattern representing an elasticity tensor (E), wherein matrix elements of the elasticity tensor (E) comprise material properties of a Young's modulus (E), a shear modulus (G) and/or a Poisson's ratio (v) of the object (1), and a model function (f<sub>ij</sub>) being independent from the material properties (MP), wherein the function (f<sub>ij</sub>) considers a set of build process parameters (PP), a machine setup, a voxel volume filling (Vf) and/or a lattice type for the build simulation. Moreover, an additive manufacturing built simulation method for simulating the manufacture of the object (1), is presented, the method comprising, (i), accessing the data structure (DS), and (ii), performing the build simulation by executing a finite element algorithm (FEM) based on the entries of the data structure (DS), wherein all material properties (MP) are defined as constants in the matrix and only the elements of the model function (f<sub>ij</sub>) are calibrated for a given material.
