Abstract
The present invention relates to a negative electrode, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. Specifically, the negative electrode is characterized in that it includes a current collector; and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on at least one surface of the current collector, wherein the negative electrode active material layer includes a carbon-based active material and a silicon-based active material, the carbon-based active material includes artificial graphite particles in a form of a secondary particle in which a plurality of primary particles are aggregated, the primary particles have a circularity of 0.60 to 0.78, and a ratio of an average particle diameter (D<sub>50</sub>) of the silicon-based active material to an average particle diameter (D<sub>50</sub>) of the artificial graphite particles in the form of a secondary particle is in a range of 0.4 to 1.
