Abstract

A positive electrode active material satisfying a specific parameter criterion for surface functional groups contained in the positive electrode active material is provided herein. A lithium secondary battery comprising the positive electrode active material is also provided herein. By introducing a parameter capable of evaluating the active material, the active material can be selected without separate evaluation of cells, thereby contributing to improving the development speed of cells. In addition, the lifespan of the secondary battery can be improved by improving the capacity retention rate of the positive electrode active material.
