Abstract
According to exemplary embodiments, a battery manufacturing method is provided. The method includes: preparing a battery cell including a case including an electrode accommodating part having an electrode accommodating space and a gas pocket part having a gas pocket space, and an electrode assembly accommodated in the electrode accommodating space; inserting a needle of a gas release valve into the gas pocket part; activating the battery cell; and discharging gas collected in the gas pocket part using the gas release valve.
