Abstract

The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a display; a signal processing device; and a power supply including a converter to supply a display driving voltage to the display, wherein the converter includes: a transformer; a first and second switching elements disposed at an input terminal of the transformer; a resonant capacitor and a resonant inductor disposed between and respectively connected to the input terminal of the transformer and the second switching element; and a switching controller to control the first and the second switching elements, wherein in response to a current flowing through the resonant inductor decreasing and a switching frequency of the first and second switching elements decreasing, the switching controller is configured to stop a switching operation of the first switching element and the second switching element. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce possibility of burnout of a circuit element.
