Abstract

Disclosed herein is a patient lift, comprising a housing; an ultraviolet (UV) radiation configuration, mounted to the housing, and configured to emit UV radiation into a radiation zone; a spool, disposed in the housing; a strap, connected to the spool, and extending through the radiation zone such that a portion of the strap is disposed in the radiation zone; a drive unit, operably coupled to the spool such that the spool is drivable by the drive unit to displace the strap through the radiation zone; and a controller operably coupled to the UV radiation configuration to adjust a characteristic of the emitted UV radiation, and operably coupled to the drive unit to adjust the displacement of the strap through the radiation zone. While the UV radiation configuration is emitting UV radiation into the radiation zone, the portion of the strap in the radiation zone is exposed to the UV radiation.
