Abstract

The present disclosure provides a preservative for external skin preparation and a use thereof, the preservative including: hinokitiol; and at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of alkanetriol having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, dipropylene glycol, glyceryl caprylate, ethylhexylglycerin, and phenoxyethanol. According to the preservative for external skin preparation and the like according to one aspect, a liquid state can be stably maintained at room temperature under a refrigerated condition, and an excellent antimicrobial effect can be exhibited even after the formulation.
