Abstract

A method is decorating a timepiece component in which a base made of a metal is decorated by irradiating a surface of the base with a pulse laser while relatively moving a laser irradiation portion and the base. The method includes scanning the surface while irradiating the surface with the pulse laser to process a first processing region of the surface, and scanning the surface while irradiating the surface with the pulse laser to process a second processing region that overlaps a part of the first processing region when viewed from a first direction that is a vertical direction with respect to the surface. The second processing region is located on an inner side of end portions of the first processing region R1 when viewed from the first direction.
