Abstract

The tool (30) can be used for manipulating a tang (22) of a helical insert (20) during installation. The tool (30) can have a guide member (32) having a working tip (38), and a holder (40). The tool (30) can have a stem member (42) slidingly engaged with the guide member (32), the stem member (42) having a tang catch (44) adjacent the first end (34), and an actuator (46) protruding from the second end (36); and a biasing member (48) coupled between the guide member (32) and the stem member (42), the biasing member (48) biasing the stem member (42) to a rest position relative the guide member (32), in which rest position the tang catch (44) is retracted into the working tip (38).
