Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, a controller, a vehicle heating system and a program product for heating a target position of a vehicle. The vehicle includes an inverter (104) for conversion between AC and DC between a motor (124) and a battery (108) of the vehicle. The inverter (104) includes a plurality of switching elements and a plurality of diodes connected in parallel with the plurality of switching elements. The method (200) comprises: controlling (202) the plurality of switching elements of the inverter so that the AC flows through at least one of the plurality of diodes to generate additional heat; and controlling (204) a coolant system of the vehicle to transfer the additional heat generated by the inverter to a target position of the vehicle for heating.
