Abstract

The boat propulsion device includes a propeller, an electric motor, a controller, and a communication device. The electric motor rotates the propeller. The electric motor includes a rotor including permanent magnets, and a stator that includes a plurality of coils arranged along a rotation direction of the rotor and that faces the rotor in a radial direction of the rotor. The controller controls driving of the electric motor. The controller includes a memory. The communication device communicates with an external device. The controller receives a correction request from the external device via the communication device, and rewrites correction values of electrical angles of current flowing through the plurality of coils, which are stored in the memory, based on the correction request.
