Abstract
A lithium iron phosphate precursor, the preparation of which includes: uniformly mixing a metal oxide, a dispersant, a carbon source, a lithium source, and a first lithium iron phosphate in an aqueous solution, followed by a first grinding to obtain a first precursor with a median particle diameter (D50) of 0.35 to 0.39 µm; then adding a second lithium iron phosphate to the first precursor, uniformly mixing, and performing a second grinding to obtain the lithium iron phosphate precursor with a median particle diameter (D50) of 0.35 to 0.39 µm. The overall process provided by the present invention is simple and does not require repeated replacement of materials, reaction environments, or equipment, reflecting the advantages of a continuous process. In addition, the lithium iron phosphate battery cathode material produced from this precursor exhibits high compaction density characteristics.
