Abstract
The present invention provides a zirconia pre-sintered body that can achieve a relative density of 99.0% or more in fast firing with a high rate of temperature increase of 350°C/min, and yield a zirconia sintered body having excellent translucency. The present invention relates to a zirconia pre-sintered body comprising zirconia and yttria, wherein the zirconia pre-sintered body, with six target temperatures set from 1,150°C to 1,400°C at 50°C intervals and six samples prepared by heating the zirconia pre-sintered body from a temperature range of 400°C or less to each different target temperature at a rate of temperature increase of 350°C/min, followed by 10-minute retention at the target temperature and subsequent cooling to 25°C, has a transition point where the maximum value of the amount of change ((Δρn+1/ΔT) - (Δρn/ΔT)) between the rate of density change Δρn/ΔT in the nth interval and the rate of density change Δρn+1/ΔT in the (n+1)th interval becomes 0.010 or more in the temperature range of 1,200°C or more and 1,350°C or less, where Δρn represents a change in density of the pre-sintered body between the upper-limit temperature and the lower-limit temperature of the nth interval (n being an integer of 1 or greater), and ΔT represents a change in temperature as defined for the six samples in the temperature range of target temperatures from 1,150°C to 1,400°C divided into 50°C intervals.
