Abstract
A resin composition containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, a titanium compound, and a compound (X), wherein the polyvinyl alcohol resin is an ethylene-modified polyvinyl alcohol resin containing from 1 to 19 mol% of an ethylene structural unit, the compound (X) is at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkaline earth metal compound (A), an alkaline metal compound (B), sorbic acid (C), and acetic acid (D), and a content of the titanium compound in terms of metal is from 0.0001 to 2 ppm relative to a mass of the resin composition is provided as the resin composition having excellent thermal stability.
