Abstract

Provided is a Zn-Al-Mg coated steel sheet having excellent post-painting corrosion resistance and painting layer adhesion. The Zn-Al-Mg coated steel sheet includes a base steel sheet and a coated layer formed on at least one side of the base steel sheet. The coated layer has a chemical composition, in mass%, containing Al: 0.5 % to 3.5 % and Mg: 0.5 % to 3.5 %, with the balance being Zn and inevitable impurities. The surface of the coated layer has a microstructure including a single-phase Zn microstructure and a eutectic microstructure. The eutectic microstructure includes a Zn-Mg intermetallic compound phase and a Zn phase, and optionally includes either or both of an Al phase and an Al-Mg intermetallic compound phase. The coating weight of the coated layer is 35 g/m<2> to 80 g/m<2>. An average oxide film thickness at the surface of the coated layer is 50 nm or less. When an average value of oxygen intensity at the surface of the coated layer is taken as 1, a standard deviation σ of the oxygen intensity is 0.30 or less.
