Abstract

Disclosed are a control method for a robotic pool cleaner and a robotic pool cleaner. When the robotic pool cleaner satisfies a wall-climbing condition, it climbs a wall to travel toward a waterline. During the wall-climbing process, when the robotic pool cleaner is partially or completely located in a first wall area on a pool wall and cannot continue traveling toward the waterline, it moves in a direction opposite to a wall-climbing path to move away from the first wall area. A surface of the first wall area forms an open cavity on the pool wall, and the open cavity is capable of accommodating at least a preset proportion of the robotic pool cleaner's body. This solution can clean at least a portion of the pool wall to complete a cleaning task as much as possible while reducing energy consumption and improving cleaning efficiency.
