Abstract

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, a cap assembly, and a sealing tape surrounding an outermost portion of the electrode assembly, wherein the sealing tape includes a plurality of first protrusions protruding in a first direction, and a plurality of second protrusions connected to the plurality of first protrusions and protruding in a second direction, the plurality of first protrusions and the plurality of second protrusions are arranged alternately, the plurality of first protrusions are located on an upper side of a reference line, the plurality of second protrusions are located on a lower side of the reference line, and at least some of the plurality of first protrusions or the plurality of second protrusions cover at least a portion of an upper surface or a lower surface of the electrode assembly.
