Abstract

The present application relates to a secondary battery and a housing thereof. The secondary battery includes a housing, a bare cell, and a top cover assembly. The top cover assembly includes an end cover and lower plastic part provided on the end cover. The end cover seals an opening of the housing. The end cover is provided with an explosion-proof valve through hole for mounting an explosion-proof valve. The lower plastic part is provided with a plurality of exhaust through holes in communication with the explosion-proof valve. An area of the explosion-proof valve through hole accounts for 1.5% to 8% of an area of the end cover. Exhaust areas of orthographic projections of the plurality of exhaust through holes in the end cover account for 1% to 5% of the area of the end cover.
