Abstract

A secondary battery includes (10): an electrode assembly (100) comprising a first electrode (110), a second electrode (120), and a separator (130) interposed between the first electrode (110) and the second electrode (120), the first electrode (110), the second electrode (120), and the separator (130) being wound to form the electrode assembly (100); a case (200) having an opening (201) formed on one side and forming a receiving space (210) in which the electrode assembly (100) is accommodated; and a cap assembly (300) coupled to the one side of the case (200) to seal the opening (201), wherein the cap assembly (300) includes: a cap plate (310) coupled to the opening (201) and comprising a terminal hole (311) formed with a step; and a terminal plate (320) coupled to the terminal hole (311) via an insulator part (330) and electrically connected to the first electrode (110), and a height of an upper surface of the cap plate (310) coupled to the opening (201) is a same as a height of an upper surface of the terminal plate (320).
