A cap assembly for a secondary battery, the cap assembly including a cap plate seated on and coupled to an opening in a case that accommodates an electrode assembly, a first vent portion connected to the cap plate, the first vent portion fracturing at a first fracture pressure, and a second vent portion coupled to at least one of the first vent portion or a region adjacent to the first vent portion, the second vent portion fracturing at a second fracture pressure different from the first fracture pressure.
