Abstract
A separator for a secondary battery according to the present disclosure includes a substrate and a coating layer on a surface of the substrate, the coating layer including inorganic particles. The substrate orientation degree, which is calculated from a puncture strength of the separator and a weight per unit area of the substrate, may be within a predetermined range. A secondary battery according to the present disclosure includes an electrode assembly including a cathode, an anode, and the separator for a secondary battery according to the present disclosure. The thermal stability of the separator and the secondary battery may be improved.
