Abstract

A secondary battery includes a wound electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, the case including a bottom portion, a sidewall portion connected to the bottom portion, and an opening facing the bottom portion, a first electrode tab connected to the first electrode, and a cap assembly coupled to one end of the sidewall portion to seal the opening, the cap assembly including an insulating washer between the cap assembly and each of the electrode assembly and the first electrode tab, and the insulating washer including a base film and a hard coating layer on a surface of the base film.
