Abstract
This application provides an AC/DC converter and a charging device, and pertains to the field of power electronics technologies. The AC/DC converter includes a controller and a multi-phase AC/DC conversion circuit. In each phase of AC/DC conversion circuit, a current flowing through a first winding of an autotransformer is a first current, and a current flowing through a second winding of the autotransformer is a second current. When a current difference between the first current and the second current in any phase of AC/DC conversion circuit is greater than or equal to a current threshold, the controller can determine that a fault exists in the phase of AC/DC conversion circuit, and turn off a switch in the multi-phase AC/DC conversion circuit, to implement fault isolation. In the foregoing solution, fault detection can be implemented based on a current flowing through the autotransformer, and fault isolation can be implemented by turning off the switch in the AC/DC conversion circuit. Therefore, no additional power switching device needs to be added to the AC/DC converter, and both structural complexity and hardware costs of the AC/DC converter are low.
