Abstract

A method for selecting and/or configuring a drive device for a rotational electric machine, particularly upgrading and/or modernizing an existing drive device, includes obtaining (101) characteristic data of the rotational electric machine, the characteristic data including one or more of a type code, a service history, a field of application, a motor parameter; determining (102) a parametrization for the rotational electric machine based on the characteristic data, the parametrization including one or more of a rated speed, a maximum speed, a rated torque, a maximum torque, a continuous use indicator; and selecting and/or configuring (110) the drive device based on the parametrization.
