Abstract

An apparatus and a method for multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) precoding, wherein the method comprises providing a first input matrix (210) representing a first channel matrix for a first user equipment (UE), wherein the first input matrix (210) comprises patches (212), wherein the patches (212) of the first input matrix (210) comprise elements, determining for the patches (212) of the first input matrix (210) respectively a first common encoding (214) of the elements of the respective patch (212) of the first input matrix (210), mapping at least the first common encodings (214) to a first output matrix (218).
