Abstract
A method for a communication device for handling a re-establishment procedure includes initiating the re-establishment procedure (302); selecting a target cell according to a cell selection procedure (304); triggering an on-demand system information block 1, OD-SIB1, procedure according to a stored wake up signal, WUS, configuration to the target cell in response to at least one triggering OD-SIB1 procedure condition being fulfilled (306); selecting an OD-SIB1 request from a preamble pool (308); transmitting the OD-SIB1 request to the target cell at a uplink, UL, resource in the OD-SIB1 procedure (310); determining whether the target cell is a cell that the communication device is able to camp on according to an SIB1 from the target cell (312); and transmitting a re-establishment request message to the target cell in response to the target cell being the cell that the communication device is able to camp on (314).
