Abstract

A surgical mesh (100) including a reinforcement component (110), one or more fixation components (120) for providing improved adhesion between the surgical mesh and tissue for tissue repair damage, and a securing component (130) for attaching the fixation component to at least one surface of the reinforcement component is disclosed. Fixation component includes one or more surface structures (123) extending out from an elongated body and that increase friction coefficient with the tissue surface thereby reducing and preventing migration of surgical mesh. The surgical mesh may be removed and repositioned without substantially losing its adhesive properties and is suitable for treatment of hernia.
