Abstract

An intravenous infusion system includes a plurality of infusion pumps each configured to convey a fluid to a subject during an intravenous infusion procedure, a controller programmed to receive information regarding the pumps, and a display screen configured to receive input from the controller and to display a visual representation of the pumps based at least in part on the input from the controller. The controller may be programmed to determine whether there is a possible negative interaction between operation of at least two of the pumps during the intravenous infusion procedure and to control the display screen to display a notice regarding the negative interaction upon determining that the negative interaction is possible. The controller and display screen may also or alternatively cooperate to determine and display information regarding the locations of fluids during the procedure and/or to determine and display a total fluid intake level.
