Abstract

The present invention relates to a coupling device (120, 130) for coupling two modules (110) of a modular robot, to a coupling unit (121, 131; 122, 132), to a module (110) for a modular robot (100), to a modular robot (100), and to a method for assembling, wherein the coupling device (120, 130) comprises first and second coupling units (121, 131; 122, 132) configured to be releasably coupled one to each other, wherein the first coupling unit (121, 131) comprises a coupling portion (126, 136) protruding from a first surface (124, 134) in coupling direction and having an outer surface (128, 138), wherein the second coupling unit (122, 132) comprises a recess (127, 137) for at least partially receiving the protruding coupling portion (126, 136) of the first coupling unit (121, 131) and having an inner surface (129, 139), and wherein an outer contour of the protruding portion (126, 136) of the first coupling unit (121, 131) and an inner contour of the recess of the second coupling unit (122, 132) each have a polygon-like shape in at least one sectional plane perpendicular to the coupling direction (CD).
