Abstract

A delivery of a printing consumable to the user is restricted in a situation in which a printing consumable remains in a storage body. A printer 200 obtains an amount of ink consumed by image formation using an inkjet head 3. In response to detection, by a level sensor 90, that the level of ink in the tank 32 has increased from below an intermediate reference level ML to at or above the intermediate reference level ML, the printer 200 determines that the ink is supplied to the tank 32 from the bottle. In response to detection, by the level sensor 90, that the level of the decreasing ink in the tank 32 becomes lower than the intermediate reference level ML, the printer 200 determines whether a difference between a current residual amount calculated by using the obtained amount of ink and a current detection residual amount is greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. In a case where the difference is determined to be greater than or equal to the predetermined amount, the printer 200 outputs supply-guidance information for guiding a supply of ink into the tank 32.
