Abstract
There is provided a metal-ceramic joint body, including: a metal component: a ceramic component joined to the metal component; and a joining layer on an interface between the metal component and the ceramic component, containing Cu and Mg, and further containing at least one active metal element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Ca, Y, Ce, La, Sm, Yb, Nd, Gd, and E, wherein non-layered MgO phases containing MgO are present in the joining layer.
