Abstract
This disclosure relates to a polyethylene composition comprising a metallocene-catalysed multimodal polyethylene wherein the metallocene-catalysed multimodal polyethylene comprises: (i) from 40 to 52 wt%, based on the total weight of the metallocene-catalysed multimodal polyethylene, of a first polyethylene component (A), optionally wherein the first polyethylene component (A) is a polyethylene homopolymer, and (ii) from 48 to 60 wt%, based on the total weight of the metallocene-catalysed multimodal polyethylene, of a second polyethylene component (B), optionally wherein the second polyethylene component (B) is a polyethylene copolymer, wherein the first polyethylene component (A) has a density (ISO 1183-1:2019 method A) in the range of from 945 to 970 kg/m<3>, and a MFR<2> (190°C, 2.16 kg, ISO 1133) in the range of from 0.2 to 10 g/10 min; the second polyethylene component (B) has a density (ISO 1183-1:2019 method A) in the range of from 900 to 930 kg/m<3>, and wherein the polyethylene composition has a density (ISO 1183-1:2019 method A) of 935 to 960 kg/m<3>; and a MFR<5> (190°C, 5.0 kg, ISO 1133) in the range from 0.5 to 3.0 g/10min. This disclosure further relates to use of the polyethylene composition, a process for preparing the polyethylene composition, and a pipe or pipe fitting comprising the polyethylene composition.
