Abstract
An object to be solved by the invention is to provide an infrared-absorbing fiber containing complex tungsten oxide particles having excellent infrared absorbing performance. The infrared-absorbing fiber of the present invention includes: a fiber; and complex tungsten oxide particles located at one or more locations selected from an interior of the fiber and a surface of the fiber. The complex tungsten oxide particles contain a complex tungsten oxide. The complex tungsten oxide is represented by a general formula M<sub>x</sub>W<sub>y</sub>O<sub>z</sub> (0.20≤ x/y≤0.37, and 2.2≤z/y≤3.3). The complex tungsten oxide has a hexagonal crystal system. In a STEM-HAADF image of the complex tungsten oxide particles with a beam incident along with , the complex tungsten oxide particles contain 0.01% or greater and 10% or less by number of spots, in which Z-contrast of tungsten atom decreases to equal to or less than 95% of an average value.
