Abstract

The invention relates to a tower adapter (10) securable on an outer surface (101) of a tower (100), for example the tower (100) of an offshore wind turbine, against falling, using tension load transfer means (2) with at least one tension load pathway element (3, 4; 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B) being bowable. The tower adapter (10) includes abutment means (16) for abutment on the outer surface (101) of the tower (100), and a securing device (19) for engagement with the tension load transfer means (2) for securing the tower adapter (10) against normal displacement away from the outer surface (101) of the tower (100). In order to facilitate easy and safe parking of bulky loads at the tower of the offshore wind turbine, the tower adapter (10) is configured such that the abutment means (16) secure the tower adapter (10) against falling by frictional engagement with the outer surface (101) of the tower (100) when the tower adapter (10) is secured against normal displacement away from the outer surface (101) of the tower (100) by the engagement of the securing device (19) with the tension load transfer means (2). The invention further relates to a tower adapter system (1) and a method for securing a tower (10) on an outer surface (101) of a tower (100).
