Abstract
A device for the contactless and non-destructive testing of a surface by measuring infrared radiation thereof in response to thermal excitation comprises one or more electromagnetic radiation sources (220), each adapted to emit excitation radiation directed onto the surface (17) to be tested. One or more detectors (120) with pixel arrays (121) are directed towards the surface (17) and record the response to the excitation radiation as a function of time. A control unit (60) receives the values from the pixels and determines the times at which the values were measured, taking into account the non-gated measurement at the pixel arrays (121). Control unit (60) also controls the pulsing of the one or more radiation sources (220).
