Abstract
A method for inspecting an acoustic liner (30) positioned in an inner cavity (34) of a component (22) of an aircraft engine (10) includes: emitting, through a drain hole (22a) of the component (22) and through a section (35; 35') of the acoustic liner (30) to be inspected, a sound signal (41a) having an initial intensity; capturing, via a sound capture device (42) positioned inside the inner cavity (34), a transmitted intensity of the sound signal (41b) following its transmission through the section (35; 35') of the acoustic liner (30) to be inspected; and determining a loss in signal intensity through the section (35; 35') of the acoustic liner (30) to be inspected by comparing the transmitted intensity to the initial intensity. Upon detecting that the loss in signal intensity is within a predetermined loss in signal intensity envelope for the acoustic liner (30), an indication that the acoustic liner (30) is acceptable is emitted.
