Abstract

A display device not mounted on a user, the display device including: a housing including a viewport; a display panel for emitting display light, the display panel including a display surface having a planar shape positioned in the housing and arranged to face the viewport; and an optical system positioned in the housing and configured to form an image of the display light, in which the optical system includes a first semi-transmissive mirror having a function of reflecting light toward the display panel and diffusing, concentrating, or converging the light, and a second semi-transmissive mirror positioned between the display panel and the first semi-transmissive mirror, and having a function of reflecting light toward the first semi-transmissive mirror and concentrating or converging the light.
