Abstract

In an optical waveguide network connecting multiple input ports with multiple output ports, while implementing mapping set between the multiple input ports and the multiple output ports according to a control signal applied to a coupler switch to control transmission of optical power crossing between adjacent first and second optical waveguides forming the optical waveguide network, the transmission of optical power crossing between a pair of first optical waveguides and a pair of second optical waveguides connecting between the same display source and the same display sink may be controlled together from the same coupler switch to provide a main channel of relatively high transmission rate for transmitting an image signal between a display source and a display sink, and an auxiliary channel of relatively low transmission rate for transmitting an auxiliary signal for setting the main channel. Accordingly, provided is a photonic circuit in which the number of coupler switches for forming a flow of different optical power between the pair of first optical waveguides and the pair of second optical waveguides may be reduced by half, and an overall control structure including a control unit and a control line for generating a control signal and outputting the generated control signal may be simplified.
