Abstract
The present disclosure is directed towards method and systems for managing data comprising: appending a block to a centralised topic block-chain wherein: the appended block comprises a hash of the preceding block; the appended block is a genesis block; and the genesis block is the first block in a subtopic block-chain relating to an attribute of the topic block-chain, wherein the subtopic block-chain provides a parallel and hierarchical record structure of event blocks, whereby: the centralised topic block-chain is used to store topic-level records and serves as the root of the hierarchy; and the subtopic block-chain is used to store topic-level records of events relating to an update of an attribute of a topic provide a verifiable record of the updates to the attribute.
