Abstract

To enable provision of information on precipitation amount amounts in areas where rain gauges are not installed, an acquisition unit of this precipitation amount amount estimation device uses a soil moisture sensor installed at an estimation target location to acquire, as soil moisture content information, information on soil moisture content that is the content of moisture contained in the soil of the estimation target location. The estimation unit uses information on a change over time in soil moisture content based on the soil moisture content information to estimate the precipitation amount amount of the estimation target location.
