Abstract
Summarizing the invention, a computer-implemented method is provided. The method comprises: receiving an input video comprising a sequence of phase-contrast images of a co-culture of cells in a cell culture vessel, wherein the co-culture comprises at least two different cell types; performing, by running a machine learning model on at least one processing unit: segmentation to obtain a detection of at least part of the cells in the input video, and classification to obtain a categorization of the at least part of the cells in the input video into the at least two different cell types; determining trajectories and interaction parameters of at least part of the detected and categorized cells across at least part of the sequence of phase-contrast images; providing an output comprising the sequence of phase-contrast images, the detection, the categorization, the trajectories and the interaction parameters.
